In spite the odds, health care is very important. It's one consolation for life's hard work especially to the lowly workers.

You make wonderful podcasts. I learned Japanese for 2 years when I was in college and stopped after that. I missed the time when I pushed myself to read and write in Japanese. When I listened to your audio clips, the good memoy just came back. I was suprised to notice that I still can remember many Japanese vocabularies. It also good to listen it to learn both Japanese and English. I've downloaded all the learning clips to my ipod and continued listen to them all day long. Thank you so much.

By the way, I feel the speed of the conversations is a little bit fast. I need some time to think about the grammers and at the same time to repeat and remember. Also, please keep taking notes for each clip. It really help me to gain the conprehensive understanding of Japanese.

Yeah, I remember the old C4 programmes fondly, seeing Konishiki and Chyonofuji - who was very visible when I made my second visit to Nihon a couple of weeks ago. Asashoryu was all over the news for my entire 2-week stay (him and Honda).

Now, from my understanding (and my job as a sports journo in London gave me some insight into this), "Asa" (let's call him for the sake of tabloid brevity) was the bad boy of sumo. Boozing, brawling - doing all the wrong things, even celebrating his victories (!) with the clenching of fists unbecoming of the yokozuna (forgive the spelling). But my question - would he have been kicked out of sumo had he been Japanese, and not Mongolian? (I suppose you might ask would he have done these naughty things were he Japanese in the first place.)

Really enjoying the podcasts, which I discovered in Jan (only a few podcasts in but the lightness is the perfect complement to my course at SOAS.)

Keep up the good work! Love from Andy
