Title: Good website for watching in Japanese Post by: Gordon on February 03, 2010, 11:04:58 PM I dunno if everybody already knows about this or not, but I just ran across this website which looks like it's got a good selection in Japanese, free, legal, with only a short commercial at the beginning and the end (I usually skip the one at the end): http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime
I've been watching Hayate no Gotoku on it, and it seems pretty good (although a little above my language level). Also, does anyone know where to find free anime or movies in Japanese with subtitles also in Japanese? My host father recommended I try to practice with that. Seems like everything is subbed in English only. Thanks. Title: Re: Good website for watching in Japanese Post by: Krimson on April 19, 2010, 04:34:17 AM Anime with Japanese subs? Nope. However, you could try Jpop and Vocaloid videos on Youtube. A lot of them have both English and Japanese (sometimes both kana and romaji) subs. So while not great for conversational Japanese, the music videos can at least help you get used to reading kana and singing along can be pretty fun as well.
Title: Re: Good website for watching in Japanese Post by: Gordon on April 20, 2010, 04:56:57 PM Yeah, I'm pretty comfortable reading kana already. It's mostly kanji and expressions I'm interested in. If I find something, I'll try to remember to post it here.
Title: Re: Good website for watching in Japanese Post by: Krimson on April 20, 2010, 07:52:06 PM Sorry, I meant kana as in the group encompassing hiragana, katakana and kanji. Not just hiragana, though in some cases (such as with shounen manga) the kanji does have the small hiragana on top which is nice for those of us who are kanji-impaired.
